Canada-U.S. Relations  Madam Speaker, over the last six years, hundreds of thousands of Canadian jobs have been threatened each time, and we have taken action accordingly. Our position is very clear. No, and I mean no, duties should be imposed on Canadian softwood lumber exports. We will continue to work closely with forestry workers and stakeholders, and I want to reassure them that we will always be there to defend their interests, their families and their communities.

Canada-U.S. Relations  Madam Speaker, the softwood lumber industry is a priority for the Government of Canada. This industry is the economic backbone of many communities across the country and is a key part of Canada's forestry sector that contributed more than $25 billion to the GDP in 2020 and employed nearly 185,000 workers.

Fisheries and Oceans  Mr. Speaker, if we want to talk about leadership, I will certainly take no lessons from the Bloc Québécois, which completely drained the lifeblood of the Gaspé for 15 long years. What is the Bloc Québécois able to do in the region? It cannot do anything at all except complain. The Gaspé needs doers, not whiners.

Fisheries and Oceans  Mr. Speaker, while the Bloc Québécois is playing armchair critic, on this side of the House, we are producing tangible results for Quebeckers. The Bloc Québécois prides itself on speaking on behalf of the people of Gaspé, but what have they accomplished for the economy? How many jobs have they created in the Gaspé?

Canada Revenue Agency  Mr. Speaker, the Canada Revenue Agency is committed to ensuring that all taxpayers pay their fair share and meet their tax obligations. Our government's historic investments gave the CRA the tools it needed to improve its data analysis. I want to inform the member opposite that the number of audits conducted is not directly connected to the number of cases of non-compliance identified.

This criteria in and of itself does not demonstrate suspicious nor fraudulent activity.
