Ethics  Mr. Speaker, if they support freedom of the press, they should act accordingly. After just one year in power, this government has already reached the height of Liberal arrogance. The Minister of Finance is hosting a fundraiser at $1,500 a plate with a hand-picked group of elites in exchange for guaranteed access.

Indigenous Affairs  Madam Speaker, the good old Liberals will always be the good old Liberals. They will go on thinking that their government is above the law. Instead of doing everything in their power to comply with the Human Rights Tribunal's ruling on discrimination against indigenous children, they appointed Mrs.

Ethics  Madam Speaker, in their document entitled “Open and Accountable Government”, the Liberals state that “there should be no preferential access to government, or appearance of preferential access, accorded to individuals or organizations because they have made financial contributions to politicians and political parties”.

International Trade  Mr. Speaker, the minister still does not get that we are not prepared to accept just any agreement with Europe and that we want a good agreement. The minister says that free trade with Europe is a done deal, but there is no compensation for our dairy producers and nothing to protect drug prices.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, unlike the Liberals, we will not support agreements negotiated by the Conservatives. The Prime Minister wrote to his ministers that their behaviour should bear the closest public scrutiny, even when it comes to the appearance of a conflict of interest. He made that clear in their mandate letters.

Aerospace Industry  Mr. Speaker, last week, we learned that Bombardier will be cutting 2,000 Canadian jobs, including 1,500 in Quebec alone. That is a huge blow to our economy. For the past 10 months, this government has been saying that it supports Bombardier, but what has it put on the table? Nothing.

Democratic Reform  Mr. Speaker, a ploy is a secret manoeuver carried out with the intent of misleading people, or trumping people, if you will. When in opposition, the Liberals said that the unfair electoral system had to be changed, and they were right. Oddly enough, once they were elected with 39% of the vote, they decided that the current system makes a lot of sense.

Quebec's Interests  Mr. Speaker, it has been one year, and Liberal MPs have kept very quiet when it comes to defending Quebec's interests. They have not said one word about jobs in the forestry industry, which is headed for a trade war, and nothing on behalf of dairy producers. They did not lift a finger for Bombardier jobs, and they betrayed Aveos employees.

Quebec's Interests  Mr. Speaker, after a year under a Liberal government, promises are once again being broken. The Liberals have the same agenda as the Conservative Party, the same agenda as the previous government. Where are the Liberal members from Quebec? Why are they not standing up for our citizens, our jobs, our regions, and the economy?

Rail Transportation  Mr. Speaker, for years now, Montrealers who live or work near any CP Rail tracks in Montreal have been demanding safe pedestrian crosswalks. The tracks are an artificial barrier. They are a major obstacle for pedestrians and cyclists. The beauty of it is that everyone agrees: the city, its councillors, and federal and provincial elected officials, including my colleague from Laurier—Sainte-Marie.

Poverty  Mr. Speaker, I would like to recognize the 40,000 people who signed my petition to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. They are sending this government a clear message: in 2016, it is shameful that people are working full time and still living in poverty. How is that possible?

Income Tax Act  Mr. Speaker, I have two comments to begin with. As far as social classes are concerned, I think that we should agree on the fact that a class structure still exists. The member can come to Montreal and see that between Westmount and Hochelaga there is a clear class difference. My colleague said that governments do no create jobs, the private sector does.

Income Tax Act  Madam Speaker, I want to thank and applaud my hon. colleague for his excellent speech. Successive Liberal and Conservative governments have provided huge tax giveaways to Canada's large corporations, whose tax rate went from 28% in 2000 to just 15% in 2012. Still, this has not created jobs and it has not stimulated the economy, and the Liberals promised to help small and medium-sized businesses, which are the real job creators in our communities, towns, and cities.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I think that all members of this House will agree that the astoundingly barbaric acts and horrors that Daesh has committed against religious minorities have reached epic proportions. Yes, the Conservative motion is correct. Yezidis, Syrian Christians, and even Muslims are suffering and dying at the hands of Daesh, and that includes many Syrian Christians of Armenian origin who are the children and grandchildren of victims of another genocide.

National Defence  Mr. Speaker, is it just me or does this whole fighter jet story feel like Groundhog Day? After slamming the Conservatives for buying the F-35s without a call for tenders, the Liberals are gearing up to do the same thing. To replace our aging CF-18s, they are going to buy Super Hornets and, surprise-surprise, without going to tender.
