Canada Child Dental Benefit  Families can receive up to $650 this year and next year per kid under 12. Huge thanks go out to dentists, dental hygienists and other dental health practitioners for helping to keep Canadian kids' smiles healthy and happy.

Health committee  My questions today will focus on kids. They won't be specifically directed to any official. I think Canadians are sometimes concerned, and very rightly so, perhaps, with the way the Canada health transfer is set up and the federal government's ability to be able to target certain priorities.

Health committee  Thank you, Mr. Chair. I agree wholeheartedly that we need to get to the end point of the report on human resources in health care. I also think that, if we are mutually and collectively committed to that end, then it's very achievable in the next couple meetings.

Sports  An example of that action is the funding we provided in budget 2019 to enable Canadian sport organizations to promote accessible, ethical, equitable and safe sport. We are also proud to provide an investment of $16 million over three years to support the newly created Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner.

Cannabis  We remain determined to take measures to prevent young people from having access to cannabis, to protect the health and safety of Canadians from untested and unregulated products and to eliminate the illegal cannabis market.

Questions on the Order Paper  The number of doses purchased was up to 38 million, and the date of initial approval by Health Canada was March 5, 2021. For Medicago Covifenz COVID-19 vaccine, the manufacturer was Medicago Inc. The date the initial agreement was publicly announced was October 23, 2020. The number of doses purchased was up to 76 million, and the date of initial approval by Health Canada was February 24, 2022.

Health  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my hon. colleague for the attention paid to this extremely important matter. Next week, an exceptional shipment of child analgesics will arrive in Canada. Our domestic producers have indicated that they have ramped up production here at home. We have done everything we can for the last five months to ensure that pediatric hospitals across the country have enough supply.

Health  We provided them with an extra $72 billion to support health systems and protect Canadians. That included a $2-billion top-up just recently to the Canada health transfer to improve health care in Canada, including by reducing backlogs from COVID-19 and growing our health workforce.

Government Priorities  Mr. Speaker, the government will never apologize for trying to be better. Progress is based on better. The kind of chaos that Conservative members are trying to pursue is the enemy of progress. From the beginning of this pandemic, we have been there for Canadians. We have been there to support them with wage subsidies and with CERB.

Health  Mr. Speaker, I agree with my colleague. Working together is the right thing to do. As we have heard, during the latest health ministers' meeting, our federal, provincial and territorial representatives collaborated to prepare a concrete action plan to advance the use of health data and digital health for Canadians.

Status of Women committee  As a man on the status of women committee today, I want to make sure that's very clear. I would like to ask Dr. Fowler something. First, I would like to thank you for saying something I have believed for a long time. I am a huge proponent of funding sport for and through health. Could you elaborate on that a little bit for the benefit of the committee?

Health  I want to acknowledge that, first and foremost. Health Canada recently approved the exceptional importation of infant and children's ibuprofen and acetaminophen to supply pediatric hospitals across Canada. Just this week, we have secured an additional foreign supply of children's acetaminophen, which will be for sale for consumers at retail stores and in community pharmacies in the coming weeks.

Taxation  We have created jobs and we have created a fair and more level playing field for Canadians across the country. We understand that rising prices, which we are seeing around the world, are also affecting Canadians across the country.

Business of Supply  When the Conservatives say “fuel taxes”, they are saying the Supreme Court of Canada wrong. It is not a tax. It is a rebate program, and it helps Canadians. Canadians have just received their climate action incentive payments, which is something the Conservatives like to avoid talking about. The third is that we are delivering on dental care and rental supports, and the Conservatives are going to vote against them.

Dental Care  This is an affordability measure. This is a health care measure. This is how we take care of families on this side of the House. This will have positive impacts across this country, including for families right across the river in Pontiac.
