Public Services and Procurement Once again, we see untendered contracts, conflicts of interest, laxity, and negligence. The situation has reached a point where the Auditor General made only one recommendation in her initial report: that her recommendations be followed. That says a lot about her exasperation as the person responsible for ensuring the sound management of our public finances.

Carbon Pricing Speaker, after nine years, the NDP-Liberal Prime Minister is simply not worth the cost. When asked about reaching their climate goals, the Liberal member for Whitby admitted that they knew their policies would be difficult and painful for Canadians. Now we know that their carbon tax climate policy confirms this, as documented in a secret report that has been covered up by putting a gag order on their budget watchdog.

Labour Mr. Speaker, I want to begin by saying that we are committed to reaching a deal that is fair for employees and for Canadian taxpayers. That deal will be reached at the table. We are committed to negotiation. However, negotiation is a process of give and take.

Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month First of all, there is a stigma surrounding men’s mental health. Many men feel as though they cannot reach out for help when they need it due to some societal expectations of masculinity. This must change. Mental health care is health care and men ought to feel more comfortable talking about our health, our mental health, our struggles and our challenges.

Housing This cost of living crisis was confirmed by Rentals.ca, which reported that asking prices for rent rose 9.3% annually, meaning that the average asking price for a residential property across the country has now reached more than $2,200 in May. This is more expensive than it has ever been in Canada. Simply, the cost increases of rent are not keeping up with anyone's paycheque. These costs continue to surge, because the NDP-Liberal government is failing to get enough homes built.

Health committee A few of them are really struggling. They feel so much stigma and shame because they don't have the ability or capacity to reach out. They feel judged for how they're living their life. The next day, the principal emailed me saying the whole counsellor's office was packed with students reaching out and saying that Guy Felicella has a way of making reaching out sound cool.

Bill C-393 An Act to amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (electronic products recycling program)
Deletion from List (2) The Governor in Council may, if satisfied that the inclusion of an electronic product or class of electronic products specified on the List of Electronic Products in Schedule 7 is no longer necessary, make an order deleting the product or class from that List. Prohibition 192.2 (1) No person shall manufacture an electronic product that is specified or is of a class that is specified on the List of Electronic Products in Schedule 7, or commercially import such a product for use or sale in Canada, unless they (a) have established an electronic products recycling program to safely dispose of any substance that is specified on the list of toxic substances in Schedule 1 and that is contained in such a product at the end of its useful life; or (b) participate in such a program operated by an organization designated by regulations made under section 192.3.

International Trade committee This has resulted in a great success story for Canada, with artists like Charlotte Cardin from Montreal and Tate McRae from Calgary developing domestic and global followings through the power and reach of streaming. I've explained these economics to provide context to the government's implementation of the Online Streaming Act. As you may know, earlier this week the CRTC introduced an unprecedented and discriminatory 5% tax on music streaming services.

Transport committee However, in 2014 Boeing announced to industry and governments worldwide that they will no longer be providing gravel kits for the aircraft. Furthermore, Boeing is restricting all newer aircraft from landing on gravel. In our north, Mr. Chair, there are 117 remote airports, of which only seven are paved.

Transport committee Point a of the motion asks that the committee be provided with the resignation letter of Andrée‑Lise Méthot. I think that has already been done, so it may no longer be useful for it to be included in the motion. The same is true of the request set out in point b, that the committee be provided with “a comprehensive and detailed summary of the projects and funds that she oversaw during her time on the CIB board”.

Science and Research committee What we have to consider here is that we do have international standards for equipment to enable survival until rescue services reach those in distress. What we know now through research is that those standards are insufficient. They are essentially aimed at ensuring survivability for up to five days, in terms of clothing, supplies and so on.

Business of Supply A young lady told me that she was thinking of getting married and having kids, but now it is impossible for her dream to come true as homes and rentals are out of reach. I spoke with an oldish man in his 50's— I hope that is not too old. —who used to live in a nice townhouse in Calgary, but now lives in one room in a shared accommodation because his townhouse rent doubled and he could no longer afford it.

Wharf in Verchères The people of Verchères cannot understand why the federal government is telling others what to do but neglecting its own infrastructure. The people of Verchères have waited almost 30 years, and cannot wait any longer. They are no longer content with a mere acknowledgement of receipt from Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The people of Verchères are tired of being ignored when they pay taxes like everyone else.
