Natural Resources committee  Of course, those same concerns, that same advocacy for the escalating struggles that everyday Canadians face in every province and territory of this country, are echoed by Liberal Premier Furey of Newfoundland and Labrador. He said: Workers and families in Newfoundland and Labrador, throughout the country and indeed around the globe, continue to face the most significant cost of living crisis in a generation.

Public Safety committee  We need to lock down and limit the amount of opportunity for them to leverage that and steal automobiles from innocent, ordinary, everyday Canadians.

Public Safety committee  There are armed carjackings in driveways, with kids in the car, to take the keys. They're holding our customers at gunpoint. They're carjacking not just everyday Canadians but NHL stars, sports stars. This is Canada that we're talking about, not Central America. This should not be happening in our country. Everybody here would be aware of the stats coming out of the auto summit, but they've been well known to the auto sector for a long time: up 300% since 2015 in the greater Toronto area.

Petitions  This policy is based on sound economics; it would save taxpayer dollars; strengthen individuals, families and communities; and make life more affordable for everyday Canadians. Reproductive rights are human rights. We have seen access to reproductive care being restricted in states and countries led by Conservative ideologues. Currently, in Canada, British Columbia and Quebec provide coverage for contraceptives; others, such as my home province of Alberta, led by a Conservative ideologue premier, do not.

Government Orders No. 35—Extension of Sitting Hours and Conduct of Extended Proceedings  Speaker, debating things that help and have positive impacts for Canadians wherever they may live, in Ontario or elsewhere, on climate change, for disabled Canadians or in any other matter is precisely why we are making this place more open for debate, so that we can have greater productivity. We can debate more things and pass more measures that will help everyday Canadians.

Transport committee  His actions as environment minister haven't made any constructive change or positive steps towards protecting the environment balanced with the reality that Canadians face to navigate the high interest rates driven by deficits and inflation, and, of course, the carbon tax that this government continues to impose on everyday Canadians. Rather, he has sought to divide, virtue-signal and implement an extremist agenda at each point of his tenure. He has doubled down on the punishing carbon tax that certainly doesn't work, and it floods the government coffers with hundreds of millions of dollars.

Health committee  Indeed, suicidality, if I'm not mistaken, is often one of the criteria for diagnosing depression, and you mentioned the inability to distinguish it from the desire for MAID. For everyday Canadians, could you talk a little bit about that, sir?

Lowering Prices for Canadians Act  What bothers me the most about how our system is rigged right now is that the wage earnings of everyday Canadians continue to be stagnant, while the very wealthy are seeing huge increases in their wage earnings and their incomes. We have seen this in a lot of statistics. This tells us that everyday Canadians are going to continue to struggle, because the greed in this country is out of control.

Public Safety committee  We are lagging, and it's not going to be business that pays the price. It's going to be everyday Canadians. Every time there's a cyber incident, it contributes to the cost of living crisis in this country. We need to get moving on this, and we need to get it right. The flaws in this legislation that have been pointed out are significant.

Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform  It is time we give Canadians the tools required to move forward in a positive direction, to take partisanship out of the equation and to see solutions put forward that are not based on the next election but the long-term best interest of everyday Canadians. Canadians across the country are reaching out to their members of Parliament asking for the implementation of a national citizens’ assembly on electoral reform. Canadians are asking for the work to be done by an independent, non-partisan and representative body of citizens to bring forward real, made-in-Canada solutions to ensure Canada’s democracy is strong and those elected are representative of the vibrant diversity that makes our country the incredible place it is.

Business of Supply  It would not have implemented a sustainable jobs act. It would not be doing the things that actually help everyday Canadians and fight the climate crisis. We will keep pushing the government because it seems unwilling to do it on its own.

Canada Revenue Agency  Madam Speaker, people who took CERB in good faith are now being punished by the government. While everyday Canadians are struggling to pay for food or rent, the Liberals have decided to punish them by clawing back low-income benefits in an effort to recoup CERB money that Canadians desperately needed to survive.

Carbon Pricing  If we are concerned about affordability, on this side of the House, we are looking out for the everyday Canadians. On that side of the House, they seem to be looking out for the top 1%.

Consumer-Led Banking Act  The gouging that is happening in our grocery stores correlates very clearly with the fact that big, wealthy CEOs are making huge profits and getting huge bonuses, and their shareholders are walking away with a lot of money. At the same time as that is happening, everyday Canadians are struggling to feed their families. People who work in those grocery stores are often not being paid well enough to afford the food in the store they work in. I think Canadians know instinctively that it is just not a fair system anymore.
