Taxation  Mr. Speaker, on the carbon tax cover-up, a barista earning $35,000 a year does not earn enough to get anything from the so-called middle-class tax plan, but does earn enough to pay a new Liberal carbon tax on gas, groceries, and electricity.

Taxation  Liberals are protecting Canadians from the sticker shock they will experience if they find out what this tax will actually cost them. Will the government end the carbon tax cover-up, clear up the real confusion, and release the true costs of this tax to Canadians?

Taxation  Still on the carbon tax cover-up, Mr. Speaker, today we learned that in January inflation was a third higher than expected. Bloomberg reported that the inflation growth was caused by “rising gasoline prices and new carbon levies”.

Employment  Mr. Speaker, it is an honour to rise today to address the question of the carbon tax cover-up, as it is being popularly called by Canadians. The issue at hand is that the government has promised to introduce a nation-wide so-called price on carbon that will rise to $50 per tonne of carbon.

Taxation  Now the government is hiding what the tax will cost the poor and middle class. Will the Prime Minister end the carbon tax cover-up and tell Rick what the tax will cost him?

Taxation  Kathy is paying the bill. She should have the right to see the bill. Will the Prime Minister end the carbon tax cover-up and tell Kathy what his tax will cost her?

Paris Agreement  I was hoping that he was going to reveal what is in the documents that his government blacked out through the carbon tax cover-up. How will this tax impact the poorest Canadians, and what will be the increase in the gap between rich and poor as a result of increasing the costs of fuel, groceries, home heating, and other basic necessities?

The Environment  The Liberal carbon tax is costing Canadians their jobs and thousands of dollars a year. The Liberals need to stop the carbon tax cover-up and tell Canadians exactly how much the Liberal carbon tax will cost.

Business of Supply  I thank my colleague, the member for Carleton, who day after day in the House of Commons talked about the reality of the carbon tax cover-up. The government is not so proud of this study because, without a shadow of a doubt, it concluded there would be a lot of money to grab from the pockets of the people instead of helping them.

Government Appointments  The Minister of Innovation was forced to admit that he misled Canadians over the Anbang boondoggle. The Minister of Finance is engaged in a carbon tax cover-up and the secret sell-off of airports. When will the Prime Minister finally act like a leader and be honest with Canadians instead of thinking he is above the law?

Ethics  That kind of arrogant, condescending non-answer is what is giving the Liberals a lot of problems, from their carbon tax cover-up to misleading B.C. seniors, and a prime minister under multiple investigations. We know he is heading off today to have a private meeting with BlackRock executives. When is he going to start giving Canadians straightforward answers, or does he only meet with people who are lining his party's pockets?

Government Accountability  We have a Prime Minister who will not answer questions about his own ethical violations. We have a finance minister who continues in his carbon tax cover-up. We have a minister of industry who still will not admit to Canadians who he is selling our seniors residences to. The cover-ups, the misleading, and quite frankly the outright lack of integrity are what the Liberals have become.

Taxation  Earlier today, the Prime Minister managed to sandwich into one answer both his love of the middle class and transparency and openness, while he is about to vote for a motion opposing the release of transparent information on the cost to the middle class of his very own carbon tax. Will he do as he promised during the election and vote today to end the carbon tax cover-up so middle-class Canadians will finally know what they will pay in new Liberal taxes?

Taxation  The Liberal government claims it wants to help the middle class and those hoping to join it, so why does it not tell us how much money this carbon tax is going to take out of the pockets of the middle class and those hoping to join it and the small businesses that are going to go out of business? Why the carbon tax cover-up?

Taxation  This tax will hit low-income Canadians, the working poor, and people with low incomes and on fixed incomes the worst. How can the minister say this carbon tax cover-up is open, transparent, and fair to all Canadians?
