Natural Resources committee  Good morning, everyone. It's great to be here today. First off, thank you, Mr. Bragdon, for your intervention. I understand that every member wishes to raise concerns and issues they may have as we continue our work here at this committee. Unfortunately, on your behalf, it's not a point of privilege.

Natural Resources committee  Thank you, Parliamentary Secretary. It's great to see you, Chair, and all of the witnesses. To the individual from the Quebec Forest Industry Council, with regard to the use of lumber and the opportunity to use lumber in varied situations, I know that in Ontario, and in other provinces along with Quebec, lumber is becoming more commonplace in buildings.

Natural Resources committee  Thank you, Mr. Swampy, for acknowledging the role that the energy sector has played and continues to play. If you look at the monthly trade statistics, last month, 30% of all money earned by this country came strictly from oil and gas sales. Those aren't my numbers; those are directly from Statistics Canada.

Natural Resources committee  Thank you, Chair. I wasn't expecting to have a follow-up, but that's great. Mr. Swampy, I've listened to your concerns and comments today. I also understand full well that the energy sector in Canada and the world needs more Canadian energy, whether it is renewable or non-renewable.

On this topic of an energy transformation or transition.... I don't mean to personalize this, but I will for 30 seconds. I grew up in northern British Columbia.

Natural Resources committee  Thank you, Ms. Gale. It's great to hear about this collaboration, and to see the ownership of that project and that project moving forward. You're absolutely correct—food security is very important these days, and even more pressing with the unprecedented actions taken in Ukraine by Russia.

Minister, could you please provide some details on the CERRC program and the progress of capacity building in indigenous communities since the program was first launched? What will the additional funding over the coming years be focused towards?
