There is a Conservative bill before the House of Commons that would treat the murder of a current or former intimate partner as first-degree murder, regardless of whether it was planned or deliberate. It would also create new specific Criminal Code offences for assault of an intimate partner and criminal harassment of an intimate partner. Would these measures be ones you would encourage the House to pass?
