Madam Speaker, this morning, we learned that Bombardier is going to cut 7,500 jobs, including 1,500 in Quebec. That is on top of the restructuring that was already announced earlier this year.
This government promised to invest in this Quebec flagship. However, Bombardier is still waiting for that assistance. This government has already failed former Aveos employees. It must not fail Bombardier workers too.
What happened to the promise to help Bombardier?

Mr. Speaker, thanks to Quebec's health minister, we now know that, when it comes time for the Liberals to fund health care, the question is, “What is in it for me politically?”
Is that what it comes down to for the Minister of Health? She should not be playing politics with the health of Quebeckers and Canadians.
Can the minister stand here today and tell us that the government is prepared to invest in mental health as the provinces requested and the Liberals promised?

Mr. Speaker, the Liberals were elected on a promise of real change, but it turns out they are fine with following the Conservatives' rules.
The Minister of Finance is just the first of many ministers planning to attend VIP fundraisers, and we are still not privy to the details of the Minister of Finance's private events.
Who was there, and, most importantly, what did they want from him?

Mr. Speaker, I will gladly vote in favour of this motion, but given that the international community has been hearing about these atrocities since August 2014, it is astonishing that it has taken two years for any action to be taken.
As my colleague from Laurier—Sainte-Marie said earlier, when vulnerability is a concern, justice is extremely important and we need to trust the refugee determination process in place.
We know that the government wants a seat on the UN Security Council. Does my colleague not think that, in addition to what is in the motion, we need to engage with the UN Security Council on this issue?

Mr. Speaker, today I am presenting another series of petitions in support of Bill C-245 concerning the establishment of a national strategy on poverty reduction.
The petitioners are calling on the members of the House to support this bill, which is set to go through second reading stage on October 31.
Canadian Human Rights Act October 18th, 2016
Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for her very open speech and for sharing with us the values and experiences that led her to take the position that she has.
As members said earlier in the debate, this will not be the first time that the House of Commons has passed a similar bill. Unfortunately, these bills keep getting blocked by the Senate.
What steps will my colleague take to convince as many of her colleagues as possible and the Conservatives in the Senate to vote in favour of this bill?

Madam Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for her speech.
As we heard earlier in this debate, the House has examined this issue for several years now. Witnesses have appeared before a committee.
Considering that this is the third time around for this bill, does my colleague not believe that the liberal government should expedite the committee's study to ensure that it is completed in one day and the bill returns to the House quickly, and then do what needs to be done for it to be passed by the Senate, which rejected it the last two times? This will ensure that rights are finally respected.

Madam Speaker, I congratulate my colleague for the work he has done on this issue over the past few years. I find it deplorable that we must vote once again on this issue. However, as a new MP, I am honoured to vote in favour of the bill.
In his speech, my colleague from Hochelaga mentioned that the Liberal government could act quickly on this file. As I am a new MP, I would like her to clarify for me what a government could do to “act quickly” on such a bill.

Mr. Speaker, the federal government has a duty to pay at least 25% of health care costs.
During the last election campaign, the Prime Minister promised collaborative federal leadership on health care funding. However, he still refuses to sit down with his provincial counterparts to talk about it. Refusing to sit down with the premiers is not real change; that was Stephen Harper's MO.
The Prime Minister must take the time to listen to the provinces. Will he show some good faith and postpone the health care cuts planned for next year?

Mr. Speaker, during the election campaign, the Liberals promised immediate assistance for home care. One year into their term, there is not a penny for home care in the budget. If they think they can use that promise to make the provinces forget they are going along with Stephen Harper's health care cuts, they are off to a bad start.
Will the Prime Minister scrap Stephen Harper's approach and commit to negotiating with the provinces?
